Geeetar

Hello Faithful fan of one!

It's been awhile since I've posted, ironically enough its because I've found something interesting to do! Since I've been gone, I've travelled, I've started learning a language, I've taken up playing the guitar, and been exercising regularly. Gone are the nights that I could sit in my room diligently doing nothing and dwelling on the harsh reality of life.

For those of you started to learn the guitar, its a blast, relatively inexpensive hobby but has quite a steep learning curve and I've found its difficult to learn alone.

My lovely lady bought me a guitar for my birthday almost a year ago now and it sat quietly neglected in the corner like a misbehaved child on timeout. In my defence I DID purchase some intro guitar lesson books and  started playing, but, I mean come ON how fun is that. (it's really not if you didn't know) Plus I found I was just making noise over and over again rather then any sounds resembling actual music. After this brief stint of trying to learn in such a traditional way I gave up. The constant complaints about the terrible noise I was making didn't help, however the complaints were completely justified. This is how my guitar got so lonely.

My desire to play the guitar stems from the overwhelming urge to exercise my creativity. Suddenly, last week, after a particularly perspiration filled gym trip I found myself standing in EB games staring longingly at a game that was designed to teach you to play guitar (Rocksmith). Could it be!? It was! I purchased the game, took it home and haven't been able to feel my finger tips since I bought it.

My only qualms about this game is the fact that it's intended for use with the electric guitar, not an Acoustic guitar with an electric pickup. So I put my headphones on (to drown out the sound the guitar itself is making) and began indulging in my fantasy of being a Rockstar.

I'm quite happy with my progress, last night I even made noise that resembled music!
